Initially affiliated to Mysore University, it became an affiliated college of the Bangalore University, which was established in the year 1964.

The college owns a nursery and a chapel within its campus boundaries.

MCC celebrated its glorious golden jubilee in the year 1998.

In 1999, the college was awarded five stars by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
